CHARLESTON, WVa – The West Virginia Republican Party has a new chairman. Matt Herridge of Wood County was elected by acclamation in Saturday’s winter meeting.
Herridge replaces Elgine McArdle who is stepping down to seek political office in the current election cycle. She became chair in summer 2022.
Matthew Herridge is a co-owner of the Qdoba Mexican Eats restaurants in Athens, Marietta and Vienna. His company recently sold their interests in several Burger King restaurants in the same areas.
Herridge was the finance chairman of the state Republican Party. He was appointed two months ago.
